I'm researching the following people and organisations to inform this project.

Organisations

Meg Parnell (Manchester) Life Long Learning Manager, Manchester Art Gallery
Meg helped me set up 'Making Conversation' in 2006 these are a series of workshops that happen three times a year at the gallery including an exhibition tour and self directed making over a three day period. The workshops are attended by a mixture of Blind, visually impaired and sighted adults. She has also participated in several of my artworks. Meg has links to other relevant organisations and artist educators.

Ticky Lowe (Liverpool) is an artist, artist educator and manages Access to Heritage which is part of 'Mencap Liverpool' it is designed to produce quality opportunities for people with learning difficulties to engage with art. This includes workshops, consulting with galleries and museums and commissioning accessible work.

Robin Blackledge (Brighton) Author of 'Creative Intervention in Healthcare' Is a multidisciplinary artist dedicated to researching the effects of technology on society and how we negotiate these rapid changes. He has recently completed a three year residency as Audio-Visual artist-in-residence at Trinity Hospice (originally appointed by 'RosettaLife'), London, creating a body of legacy artworks in collaboration with the hospice user, and as as a collaborative member of a clinical palliative care team. A key goal for this work is to create a framework for the inclusion of 'cultural interventions' at the final stages of life so that they will be considered as significant events that can be incorporated into the 'clinical appraisal' of the 'service user' (or put another way- a human being with a wide gamet of emotions and life experience) www.robinblackledge.co.uk

Anna Cady is a contemporary artist based in the UK. She often makes work with people who are not visual artists - a young child,  a girl with cerebral palsy, a dancer, a billboard painter in India or a friend with a life threatening illness. The work becomes a part of the conversation between the artist, the collaborator and the audience. Michaela Ross (London) is an artist and is currently researching 'The role and status of the artist-educator in institutional contexts' at Chelsea college of Art and Design. 'The research is driven by a desire to understand my own practice and how my professional identity as an artist-educator is formed. The themes of my work, inside and outside of institutional contexts, are those of authority and the construction of knowledge: in the studio, I re-work images and text to reveal agendas that were hidden in their original context; as an artist-educator, my work questions hierarchies and power relationships within institutions. By comparing my understanding with others', I hope to discover themes that characterise the perception of the artist-educator as a mode of practice as critique.'

Alison Kershaw (Manchester) is an artist. Her practice is based around long-term relationships with particular places and people, described as art as relationship: environment as art.
She is interested in the question of who can be an artist today, where art can be experienced and why it is important. Her work is often created in collaboration with others, including artists, galleries, voluntary groups, individuals and organisations.

*What is an Artist Animateur?
As part of a range of activities programmed alongside exhibitions, Fabrica regularly invites artists to take on the role of animateur. The purpose of this commission is to explore an exhibition through the perspective of another artist and their practice, and through doing this provide gallery visitors unique insights and new opportunities for engagement with the work.

Research interests; Arts in Healthcare, Eating Disorders and Obesity, Embodiment, Feminist Theory and Practice, Interdisciplinarity, Multisensory Art Practice and Phenomenology.
